The Story So Far…
In September 2011, Tyler and Amanda Relph officially founded City Dance, NFP. Since then, the organization has grown to include a talented team of creative professionals, partnerships with other organizations and influential community members and even gained national media attention!
Here at City Dance, we know this is just the beginning…
September: It all begins
November: A team begins to assemble as need arises for web and graphic designers, videographers, photographers and creative professionals of all kinds. Wednesday meetings become a staple of everyone’s week and the “City Dance Family” is born.
December – February 24th: The team works through various stages of planning for the flash mob and City Dance launch. Dancers from across the area come together for the shooting of the promo video launched today (March 17th), growing the City Dance family in the process. Flash mob dance practices are held at Bradley University and Illinois State University. Peoria is about to meet an organization that will change lives.
February 25th: A flash mob that highlights the rivalry between Bradley University and Illinois State University takes place at the Peoria Civic Center immediately following the one point ISU men’s basketball victory. Thousands of spectators witnessed the event live, with over 20,000 people visiting www.citydancepeoria.org in two days following the flash mob. City Dance had arrived.
February 26th: The City Dance story is featured by MSNBC.
